The US Air Force at the base in Arizona is testing the skills of Ukrainian pilots for possible training on fighters, in particular the F-16.

This was reported by CNN with reference to three sources.

– Two Ukrainian pilots are currently at a military base in the United States, where their skills are being tested on flight simulators to understand how long it will take them to learn to fly various military aircraft, including the F-16, – the report said.

An American official said that the Ukrainian pilots arrived in Tucson, Arizona, for the familiarization, which is “a routine activity as part of the ongoing dialogue between the Ukrainian and American militaries.”

CNN notes that while there is currently no sign of Ukrainian pilots being trained, their presence could mean that the US has not completely ruled out providing Ukraine with F-16s.

The publication adds that the assessment of the skills of Ukrainian pilots is carried out by the 162nd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Arizona National Guard, which specializes in training on F-16 fighters.

The day before, the American mass media published information that two Ukrainian pilots are in the United States to evaluate their skills. The journalists claimed that the US authorities had approved the sending of about 10 more Ukrainian pilots to the US already this month.

Subsequently, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the fact that two Ukrainian pilots were in the United States. American specialists analyze their combat experience, knowledge and skills.
