Ihnat: MiG-29 transfer to Ukraine may push partners to F-16

The transfer of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine will not change the situation in the sky, but it may push the allies to supply F-16s.

This opinion was expressed by the spokesman for the Air Force Command, Yuriy Ihnat.

– The MiG is a 1970s development. The supply of this type of aircraft will certainly not change the situation in the sky, but it can strengthen Ukrainian aviation,” he said.

According to Ihnat, the statements of Poland and Slovakia about the MiGs are an important psychological factor.

On March 16, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that in the coming days Warsaw would hand over the first four MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.
