The Russian army is not capable of several offensives at the same time – ISW

Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) agree with the assessment of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about the inability of the Russian army to attack several fronts at once.
This is how American experts commented on yesterday’s statement by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Oleksiy Gromov, about significant Russian losses in the battles in the Bakhmut area.
As Oleksiy Gromov emphasized the day before, starting from March 30, almost 4,500 Wagnerites and regular Russian military personnel were killed and wounded in the battles for the city .
After that, the Russian command transferred an unspecified number of forces from the Avdiiv area there to strengthen the offensive around Bakhmut.
So, the analysts conclude, Oleksiy Gromov’s statement confirms ISW’s long-standing assessment that the Russian army is not capable of large-scale offensive campaigns in several directions at the same time under the current circumstances.
It should be noted that during the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled 49 attacks by Russian invaders in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiiv and Maryin directions.
The fiercest battles are currently taking place for Bakhmut and Maryinka.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for the 415th day.
