Ukraine returned the bodies of another 79 dead soldiers – Ministry of Reintegration
On Tuesday, May 30, Ukraine returned the bodies of another 79 soldiers who died defending our country from the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation.
This was reported in the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories.
– Today it was possible to bring home the bodies of 79 dead Ukrainian defenders… The bodies of our defenders will be handed over to their families for a dignified burial, – the message reads.
The bodies of the soldiers were taken from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The Office of the Commissioner for Missing Persons at the Ministry of Reintegration and law enforcement agencies were involved in this process.
The bodies of fallen servicemen are returned in accordance with the norms of the Geneva Conventions.
The ministry reminded where to report missing persons:
- the hotline of the Commissioner for Missing Persons is open (0 800 339 247);
- information can be provided personally to the authorized person (by phone (099) 792-01-26);
- on weekends, you can send messages in Viber and Telegram (to the number (095) 896-04-21).
As you know, Ukraine regularly carries out operations to return the bodies of fallen servicemen. On May 5, it was possible to return the bodies of another 80 defenders.
In addition, there are periodic exchanges of prisoners. The last one was held on May 25, when 106 servicemen returned home from Russian captivity. These are eight officers, 98 privates and sergeants who served in the Bakhmut direction.
