Kinzhals were flying to the airfield where young pilots are gathering to train on F-16s to Europe – Ihnat

The spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat, said that the four Kinzhals used by the occupiers to attack Ukraine on the afternoon of 11 August were aimed at a military airfield in Ivano-Frankivsk region, where young pilots were stationed, who were soon to leave for training on F-16s in Europe.
He said this on the air of the national telethon of the United News, commenting on the missile attack.
– “This is another attack by terrorists with X-47 missiles. This time, Ivano-Frankivsk region is in the crosshairs, our youth, our young pilots, who are almost going to go to training. The young pilots will be trained under a different programme, and we know that the UK and other countries will train them for a new type of aircraft, Western equipment, F-16s in the first place. In this way, the enemy wanted to strike at our youth, depriving us of the prospect of further rearmament with the latest Western models of equipment,” Ihnat said.
As a reminder, on 11 August, the Russian army fired four X-47 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles at Ukraine from four MiG-31K aircraft from the airspace of the Tula and Lipetsk regions of the Russian Federation. One missile was shot down, and three more struck near the airfield in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
One of them hit an outbuilding, killing an eight-year-old boy.
