Shelling of Lutsk: Russian missile hits Swedish SKF plant

During a nighttime attack by Russia, a missile hit the Swedish SKF plant in Lutsk, which is the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial bearings.
The company announced this on Tuesday, 15 August.
– “At night, there was an attack on the city of Lutsk in Ukraine, and our plant was damaged as a result of this attack,” said SKF spokesman Carl Björnstam.
He also confirmed that three employees of the company were killed in the Russian strike. According to local authorities, three more people were injured and a man was rescued from the rubble.
SKF has 108 production facilities and 44,000 employees worldwide. In Ukraine, the company employs more than 1,000 people, most of them in Lutsk.
The plant accounts for about 0.5% of the company’s total production in 2022.
On the night of 15 August, the Russian occupiers fired 28 cruise missiles at Ukraine, hitting at least five regions.
In Lviv, apartments in a residential building burned down as a result of a hit, and one of the missiles landed on the territory of a kindergarten, with no casualties.
