Russians used pseudo-elections in the occupied territories for mobilisation – NRC
The Russian invaders decided to mobilise local residents in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Donetsk regions for the war against Ukraine. For this purpose, the aggressor uses fake elections.
This was reported by the National Resistance Centre.
– “Preparations are underway in the temporarily occupied territories to begin mobilising the local population for the war against the Motherland,” the statement said.
According to the underground, preparations are underway in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region to conscript conscripts into the Russian army. The invaders’ “military enlistment office” has already developed a mobilisation plan and started issuing draft notices to reserve officers. It is noteworthy that the invaders are working on the basis of data provided by Ukrainians during the fake elections and distribution of food packages.
Meanwhile, 100 summonses were issued in Donetsk region during the so-called “elections”. The invaders are actively compiling lists of people born in 2006 who they want to mobilise in 2024.
As a reminder, on 8-10 September, Russia held elections of regional governors. Along with the territory of the Russian Federation, the Kremlin also held illegal elections in the settlements of the temporarily occupied districts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions, as well as in Crimea and Sevastopol.
To participate in the pseudo-elections, the invaders engaged students of “volunteer movements”, state employees, and “touring artists” from the Russian Federation.
National Security and Defence Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov noted that the main goal of Russia’s fake elections in the occupied territories of Ukraine is to establish a violent mobilisation.
