If the war is frozen now, Russia will be able to attack other countries by 2028 – Zelenskyy
If we freeze the war now, Russia will restore its military potential by 2028 and may try to attack other countries.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the European Political Community Summit in Granada, Spain.
– Russia is now considering various scenarios for the coming years. One of them is particularly dangerous. If there is any pause in this aggression against Ukraine, any freezing of the situation, there will be a new critical moment – 2028,” he said.
According to the president, if Russia is allowed to adapt now, by 2028 the Kremlin will be able to restore the military potential that Ukraine has destroyed, and Russia will have enough power to attack the countries that are in the focus of its expansion.
– In addition to Ukraine, these are definitely the Baltic states and those states with Russian contingents on their territory. This is clear information from our intelligence, so we are signaling this to you,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Ukrainian leader noted that Russia “is looking for opportunities to freeze the situation and adapt, draws conclusions from its mistakes and prepares to move on.
– “Please remember that the most dangerous enemy is the one who has drawn conclusions and prepared for the next strike based on this,” he added.
Summit of the European Political Community in Granada
On October 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Spain for the European Political Community Summit.
During his speech, he expressed confidence that the United States would continue to support Ukraine.
