Zelenskyi met with the head of the OSCE in Kyiv: what was discussed
On Tuesday, August 2, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, who is on an official visit to Kyiv.
The President’s Office informed about the details of the negotiations. Thus, Zelenskyi thanked the leader of Poland Andrzej Duda, the Polish government and people for the strong support of our country during the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation – both military and humanitarian.
Among other things, Warsaw helps forced migrants from Ukraine who fled the war to the territory of a neighboring country.
– These are powerful neighbors who are helping us today, at this historical moment, supporting us in various directions… I want to thank you for the warmth with which today they are helping forcibly displaced persons from Ukraine, our refugees, who are temporarily on the territory of Poland. They help whoever they can – by accepting them in families, they help our children, they help families find work and shelter, – said the president.
He also thanked for the military assistance, in particular for providing the Ukrainian army with Krab self-propelled artillery installations.
In addition, Zelenskyi mentioned the legislative initiatives developed by Poland to support Ukrainians. In this regard, the president informed that the Verkhovna Rada recently adopted a similar draft law on the special status of Poles in Ukraine.
– I believe that there should be as many such things as possible between our peoples. Such unity at this time testifies to the common future of our peoples, our independent sovereign states, Zelenskyi emphasized.
During the meeting, the president called on Zbigniew Rau to help release from Russian captivity Ukrainians who were part of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.
It is worth noting that the current head of the OSCE today visited the city of Bucha (Kyiv region), where during the occupation Russian invaders tortured and killed hundreds of peaceful Ukrainians.
