Recent air attacks and the situation at the front: Zelenskyy holds a meeting of the Council of State

On 8 May, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired a regular meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff to discuss the consequences of recent air attacks by the Russian Federation and ways to strengthen the protection of the population and civilian and critical infrastructure.

The participants of the meeting also heard reports of the commanders of the Joint Forces Operation on the course of combat actions in the frontline areas within the responsibility of the operational and strategic groups of troops Khortytsia, Tavria, Odesa and North.

The Head of State discussed with the commanders of the Armed Forces, branches of the armed forces and operational areas, as well as the heads of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Presidential Office and the NSDC Secretary the state of supply of weapons and ammunition to the units of the Defence Forces, training and manning of the newly created brigades.

– A separate report was heard on the supply of artillery ammunition and missiles of all types for the needs of the Ukrainian army this year,” the Presidential Administration said.

On the night of 8 May, Russia attacked Kyiv region with Shahed kamikaze drones. All 35 launched drones were destroyed by our air defence forces.

In the evening of 7 May, the occupiers attacked Odesa region with X-22 missiles.
