Occupants may resort to provocations at ZNPP in the nearest future – General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ukrainian military has warned that Russia may soon resort to provocations at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 4, 2023.
– “The Armed Forces of Ukraine officially inform about the possible preparation of a provocation in the near future on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, occupied by Russian terrorists since March 4, 2022,” the statement said.
According to military intelligence, today, on July 4, foreign objects similar to explosive devices were placed on the outer roof of the third and fourth power units of the ZNPP.
– Their detonation is not intended to damage the power units, but may create an image of shelling from Ukraine. This is what the Russian media and Telegram channels are misinforming about.
The General Staff reminded that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not violate international humanitarian law, monitor and control the situation and are ready to act under any circumstances.
– “Not a single provocation of the enemy will pass,” the General Staff summarized.
The IAEA warned that on the night of July 4, Zaporizhzhia NPP lost connection with its main external power line. According to the nuclear facility’s supervisors, the plant is now operating from recently restored backup power sources.
Earlier, the head of NATO’s military committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, warned that if the occupiers blow up the Zaporizhzhia NPP, it will have an impact on the whole world.
