The Armed Forces hit Melitopol at night with HIMARS and destroyed more than 100 occupiers – the mayor
On the night of August 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck from HIMARS systems at the points of temporary deployment of the Russians in Melitopol.
This was announced by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.
– Today, high-precision HIMARS missiles fired at points of temporary deployment of occupation forces at industrial sites in various districts of the city of Melitopol, – he noted.
According to preliminary estimates, it was possible to destroy a significant amount of military equipment and more than 100 Russian soldiers who were in temporary barracks that night.
Fedorov added that last week the occupiers redeployed a significant part of the air defense from Melitopol to Kherson.
– Today’s night is the most productive and shows that the existing enemy air defense units are no longer able to resist HIMARS. The weakening of the air defense system creates the necessary prerequisites for a successful counteroffensive in the direction of Melitopol, – the mayor added.
