In a conversation with Macron, Putin agreed to give IAEA inspectors access to the Zaporizhia NPP

During a conversation between the presidents of France, Emmanuel Macron, and Russia, Vladimir Putin, the latter agreed to send a mission of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.
Euronews writes about this with reference to the Elysee Palace, which disseminated the information among journalists.
It is noted that the French leader expressed concern about security risks at the Zaporizhia NPP. It was after this that Vladimir Putin agreed to facilitate the admission of the IAEA mission.
It is noteworthy that there have been no official notifications regarding such a decision from the Russian authorities.
At the same time, the presidents of France and Russia agreed to continue negotiations in the coming days.
We will remind, on August 19, the operator of the nuclear energy industry of Ukraine stated that he suspects that Moscow is planning to disconnect the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant from the energy system of Ukraine – a complex operation that, according to the Ukrainian side, could lead to a disaster.
It is known that military equipment, explosives and weapons of the Russian military are located in the engine room of the power unit of the Zaporizhya NPP.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who is in Ukraine on August 19, called for the “demilitarization” of the area around the nuclear power plant and stressed that any potential damage to the plant “would be suicide.”
