They can turn success into victory: Zhdanov about the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson Region
The armed forces of Ukraine can turn a breakthrough of the enemy’s defenses in the Kherson region into a victory. And before the onset of cold weather, a large-scale counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops is quite possible.
This was reported by military expert Oleg Zhdanov on the FreeDom TV channel.
– We can develop the success of this breakthrough to the scale of liquidation of this group. What the liquidation will look like – escape across the Dnieper river, across bridges on foot, but without equipment, or they will surrender or die under our fire – it is up to the Russian troops to choose. We have a chance to develop success into victory in this direction, – the expert emphasized.
Zhdanov added that the Armed Forces have a chance to launch a large-scale counteroffensive before the onset of cold weather, i.e. in the fall.
– I think that Lend-Lease will start after all. Now the ships that will bring weapons here are already being prepared. And since by sea, it means that the parties will be very large. And before the onset of cold weather, we may well launch a large-scale counteroffensive, – he said.
At the same time, the military expert suggests that it is possible for the Ukrainian troops to carry out an offensive in one key operational direction in order to collapse the entire defense of the occupiers.
At the same time, Zhdanov stated that the enemy should not be underestimated, as the Russian Federation has gathered a sufficiently serious and most combat-capable group of troops in the Kherson direction, numbering about 25,000 people. The aggressor transferred there all the amphibious units that are currently on the territory of Ukraine.
In addition, Russia still has millions of tons of ammunition left over from the time of the Soviet Union.
– There is no doubt that they have enough of this iron. Now, by the way, the further we go, the more often we will observe the appearance of old and non-modernized weapons on the battlefields in Ukraine, – the military expert explained.
At the same time, Zhdanov noted that the training of the personnel of the Russian army is decreasing, in particular, there is a shortage of trained infantry.
The day before, it became known that the Armed Forces broke through the enemy’s first line of defense in the Kherson region, as a result of which the 109th regiment of the terrorist formation “DPR” withdrew from its positions, and the Russian paratroopers fled the battlefield.
Prior to that, Ukrainian servicemen destroyed almost all major bridges in the Kherson region, cutting off Russian army units from the supply of weapons and reinforcements.
According to Western media, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began preparations for a major counteroffensive in the south to liberate the occupied territories. It will include air and ground operations.
