Earthquake in Turkey: a Ukrainian woman and her 4-year-old son were rescued from the rubble

Rescuers were able to get a woman from Ukraine and her 4-year-old son out of a building destroyed by an earthquake in Turkey.

They were able to reach Elena Akgyol and her 4-year-old son Yuksel.

It is reported that the boy was pulled out before a rescue hole opened in the wreckage. Then Akgyol was pulled out from under the wreckage and handed over to medical teams.

The state of health of mother and son is satisfactory.

We will remind that on February 6, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in Turkey and Syria. Local authorities report that the number of victims of the devastating earthquake is at least 17,176.

Earlier, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko, said that there may be five Ukrainians under the rubble.
