Pentagon: Conditions for placing F-16 in Ukraine are not ideal

The Pentagon believes that the current conditions are not ideal for the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
Director of the Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Douglas Sims, stated this at a briefing.
-The conditions for the placement of the F-16 are probably not ideal, – he said in response to journalists’ questions.
Sims noted that the Russian army has many means of air defense.
Training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16
During the Vilnius NATO summit, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi agreed with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, on the training of the Ukrainian military for the F-16 . The beginning of training was planned for August.
Delivery of F-16 to Ukraine
The head of the Pentagon stated at the end of May that the supply of F-16 fighters to Ukraine is a plan that requires a lot of expenses . In his opinion, this requires the joint efforts of the US Congress and other partners of Ukraine.
In July, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, announced that according to the schedule, the first F-16 fighters should appear in the airspace of Ukraine by the end of the first quarter of 2024.
