The National Security and Defense Council allowed the forcible seizure of the assets of Sberbank and VEB.RF in Ukraine
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine decided to forcibly withdraw the property rights of the Russian Federation and its residents in Prominvestbank and the International Reserve Bank in Ukraine.
The corresponding decision of the National Security and Defense Council and the presidential decree were published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday.
According to the decision, 99.772644% of the shares of Prominvestbank, owned by the state development corporation VEB.RF, as well as 100% of the shares of the International Reserve Bank, owned by Sberbank of Russia, will be withdrawn.
Financial assets will also be withdrawn in the form of rights to claim debt from VEB.RF to Prominvestbank for UAH 930 million and Sberbank of Russia to the International Reserve Bank for UAH 14.9 billion.
Other financial assets of the subsidiaries of Russian banks are also withdrawn, with the exception of UAH 3 billion of the International Reserve Bank, which will be used to satisfy the requirements of its creditors.
Recall that on April 9 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to withdraw the corporate rights and financial assets of the International Reserve Bank and Prominvestbank.
