Ukraine received a $3.9 billion grant from the United States – Shmyhal

Ukraine received a $3.9 billion grant from the United States through the World Bank.
This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.
Ukraine received $3.9 billion from the United States: where will the funds go?
According to him, these funds will help finance priority budget expenditures – salaries for teachers, doctors and rescuers, social assistance.
This is the first tranche of direct budget support from the United States in 2024.
In total, Ukraine will receive $7.8 billion in direct budget aid from the United States this year, which will enable it to confidently pass this financial period.
According to the Ministry of Finance , direct budget support from the USA since February 2022 has reached almost 27 billion dollars. So this is the largest financial aid to Ukraine among all countries in the world.
It is emphasized that the entire amount of support was directed to the state budget of Ukraine in the form of grants.
The funds came through the World Bank project Support of Public Expenditure to Ensure Sustainable Public Administration in Ukraine (PEACE in Ukraine).
We will remind you that earlier Ukraine and the World Bank signed an agreement on a grant from the USA in the amount of almost 3.9 billion dollars.
