Russia has invented that the arrest in absentia of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, was allegedly “challenged by the defence”. In fact, this is another manifestation of hostile PSYOPS.

This was reported to ICTV by the Security Service of Ukraine’s press service.

Security Service of Ukraine denies Russian fake about “appealing” Malyuk’s arrest in absentia

Watching now

The Security Service of Ukraine called on the media to perceive any statements by the Russian authorities and its courts regarding the arrest in absentia of Vasyl Malyuk and the alleged appeal on his behalf against the “sentence” in a Moscow court as a manifestation of hostile PSYOPS.

– Neither the Security Service of Ukraine nor Vasyl Malyuk personally contacted any lawyers to appeal against the fake decisions of Russian courts. This information is completely untrue. And the “defence”, which allegedly files appeals on behalf of the Security Service of Ukraine Head, is, accordingly, part of a discrediting campaign by the Russian Federation,” the Security Service said.

The Security Service clarified that it acts within the framework of national and international law.

What happened before

On 15 April, Russian propaganda outlets spread information that the defence of SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk had allegedly appealed against the decision to arrest him in absentia in Moscow’s Basmanny Court.

The reports stated that their court had allegedly received an appeal.

On 31 March, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued demands to Ukraine to arrest the SBU head, as well as all those involved in the liquidation of Russian propagandists, the Crimean bridge blow-up and RDC raids in Belgorod and Kursk regions.
