Explosions in Odesa: four dead, 20 wounded, including a child
On the afternoon of 29 April, an explosion occurred in Odesa, killing four people and injuring 20 others with varying degrees of severity.
This was reported by Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov on his Telegram channel.
Explosions in Odesa – Kivalov’s castle is on fire
The explosions in Odesa were the result of Russia’s launch of ballistic missiles, and an air alert was declared throughout the region.
According to preliminary data, the missile was shot down by Ukrainian air defence.
As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in the city, setting fire to 600 square metres of the private estate of the president of the National University of Odesa Law Academy, Serhiy Kivalov, near the sea.
The controversial former deputy was also injured and hospitalised.
Explosions in Odesa – casualties and injuries
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported more than three dozen people injured by the falling rocket fragments, two of them in extremely serious condition. Children aged 5 and 12 were also injured.
Initially, only two people were reported dead, but two more died in hospital. A person also died as a result of a fire in Kivalov’s house.
In total, four people were killed by Russian missile attacks.
It is also known that a dog walked by a resident of Odesa was killed by the strike.
There is damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. All relevant services are working at the scene.
