In Ukraine, about 90% of wind power and up to 50% of solar energy capacity have been decommissioned due to a full-scale attack by the Russian army.

This was stated by the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko, commenting on the issue of loss in the field of energy supply.

According to him, the green energy sector was the most affected, because the main part of the capacities is located in the temporarily occupied part of the South of Ukraine.

Watching now

– We lost approximately 90% of the “wind” and 45-50% of the “sun”. These are huge losses, – emphasized the head of the Ministry of Energy.

According to the minister, Ukraine has great potential in the development of renewable energy, in particular, wind energy.

He believes that European countries are interested in investing in this direction after Ukraine’s victory in the war started by Russia.

– We had a strategy that predicted that in 2030 the share of green energy in Ukraine’s energy balance would be at least 25%. I think that after the victory due to the destruction caused by Russia, we will probably revise it and increase the percentage, – noted Galushchenko.
