The ex-prime minister of Great Britain Liz Truss personally asked the current head of government Rishi Sunak to call China a “threat” to the country’s security.

The BBC writes about it.

During her visit to Taiwan, she urged the West not to cooperate with China, noting that totalitarian regimes “do not tell the truth.” She compared the tension between China and Taiwan and Russian aggression against Ukraine.

During the election, Truss promised to take a firm stand against the Chinese government and declare the Communist Party-ruled country a “threat” to national security. However, after a short tenure as prime minister, her plans never materialized.

In addition, her successor, Rishi Sunak, also took a hard line, declaring China “the biggest long-term threat to Britain” and vowing to close all 30 Beijing-based Confucius Institutes in the UK.
