A rocket hit a house in Pokrovsk: seven people were killed, more than 60 were injured
Seven people died and 67 were injured as a result of a rocket attack on a residential building in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, on August 7.
Updated on August 8. Among the injured are two children, 29 police officers, seven rescuers, the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko said.
Yesterday, two victims were hospitalized in a serious condition in Dnipro.
Currently, the demolition of rubble, which had to be suspended at night due to the high threat of repeated shelling, is being resumed at the site.
As previously reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kуrylenko, the Russians struck the city center twice with an interval of several tens of minutes.
Nine- and five-story buildings, residential buildings in the private sector, a hotel, restaurants, shops, and administrative buildings were damaged.
Andriy Omelchenko, deputy head of the Main Department for Response to Emergency Situations of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, was killed during the shelling.
The colonel of the Civil Defense Service was 52 years old. He gave half of his life to service.
